Anecdote

One day about 5 years ago it was time for my dad and I to take the dogs, Cato and Winston, to the vet. In the garage we keep the dog food in a large garbage can sized sealed container. Just before we took them to the vet we took them out of the backyard and let them run around. As soon as we got distracted the dogs went to the garage and gorged themselves on the dog food. A rough estimate would be 20 to 30 lbs. of dog food between the two of them. Once we caught what they were doing their legs were nearly stuck out to the side because they were so full! Then we loaded them into the doghouse on top of the trailer and drove the dogs to the vet. Once we got there my dad tried to explain to them that they had gotten into the dog food container but the veterinarian didn't believe him. My dad says that he gave him the yeah right look! What essential wisdom did I learn from this? Always be mindful of your dogs and the food before going to the vet.
